Considering Coming Aboard?
“If you want something done right, do it yourself”, has its merits. But there is work we should do, and then there is work we could do but probably shouldn't, don't want to, just won't, or may not even know needs to be done...due to experience, interest, time, tools, training, etc. and that we have an alternative.
"It's Ok if I mow my own lawn, paint my own house and change my car's oil, you would reason. I've got the time, I can save a few bucks, I need the exercise, and besides, I kind of enjoy puttering around with that stuff. On the other hand, I probably don't want to do surgery on my own aorta, nor draw up my own estate plan." - Nick Murray
So, we choose to delegate certain work to a professional when that work creates value in our lives after consideration for the price we’ll pay, the cost if we don’t, and the value if we do. Value is subjective, and may present as free time, avoided stress, positive outcomes, or avoidance of negative outcomes you won’t realize you avoided. As professionals, we share this advice on how we make similar choices in our life, and in hopes that it helps you discern if we offer value to you.
"Price is what you pay; value is what you get." -Warren Buffett
With regard to the cost... "If a high-quality advisor can either help you increase your return by more than that, or save you more than that in time, effort and worry, or save you more than that by preventing you from making the classic behavioral mistakes... she's worth it. If the advisor can do all those things - and she very well may – then hiring a coach is a no-brainer." - Nick Murray
We serve a niche clientele that allows us to specialize on you, an inch wide and a mile deep. Choices that our client’s face only once or perhaps a handful of times over their lifetime, we experience with frequency, along with the consequences to follow. We leverage our specialization and the relevant wisdom gained from those before you, to your benefit.
To prevent those “few awful but awfully common and sometimes irreversible mistakes. Many are made simultaneously, and a couple are usually made sequentially.” - Nick Murray
"It is said that a wise person learns from his mistakes. A wiser one learns from others' mistakes. But the wisest person of all learns from other's successes." - John C. Maxwell
